STARLET: Saul Williams spent time on loan at Bishop's Cleeve

JET-heeled teenager Saul Williams could be Forest Green's wildcard in their quest for promotion from the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Rovers are aiming for a third home win in eight days against Kidderminster Harriers tonight (7.45pm), and manager Dave Hockaday will again be relying on the full depth of his squad as injuries bite.

Tottenham Hotspur academy product Williams made an impressive debut as 59th minute substitute in Saturday's 1-0 win over Gateshead.

Handed his first professional deal by Hockaday last summer, the 18-year-old forward has had loan spells at Slimbridge and Bishop's Cleeve this season and now looks ready to make his mark at the New Lawn.

Hockaday said: "Saul gives us pace, he gives us honesty and he closes people down.

"At some stage (on Saturday) the nerves were going to kick in, and there were a couple of times when he should have run but he tried to offload and play a killer pass.

"But he's very game and we think he's going to be player. He's only 18 and I think he's got a good future in the game."

Rovers are unbeaten in five and could even be top of the table come the conclusion of this evening's fixtures.

But their overall form pales into insignificance when compared to the Harriers, who bagged an incredible 12th win in 14 outings at Hyde on Saturday.

Steve Burr's men were without a point and propping up the division when beaten by Forest Green at Aggborough in August, but victory for them in Nailsworth will see them leapfrog their third-placed hosts.

"Kidderminster are obviously in a good place and we will have to be all at it," said Hockaday.

"We'll see who we've got available and give it our best shot – that's all we can do and we'll keep on doing that."

The Rovers boss will have at least one more attacking option at his disposal tonight, with Yemi Odubade available again after sitting out Saturday's clash with his parent club.

Defender Dale Bennett and midfielder Kieron Forbes may also return following ankle injuries, but Al Bangura must complete a three-match ban and Jamie Collins, Reece Styche and Omar Koroma remain sidelined.
