A FORMER social worker, Vicky Hall, decided to set up a care service after she struggled to find a suitable home for her grandmother.

Now five years on the Broomfield Care is going from strength to strength. The business which is based in Innsworth has a team of eleven experienced staff, including former NHS nurses.

Vicky, 37, said: “I was determined to set up a home care service that put the clients first and from the fantastic positive feedback we get from our clients and their families and friends, we’re proud to think we’ve achieved that.

“I was looking for the very highest standards of home care for my grandmother, Frances Ryder, people who were completely reliable and friendly and who I could really trust. But it proved so difficult that I decided to set up my own home care business.”

Broomfield Care is named after the village where Frances was born and lived in Broomfield in Kent. Frances passed away in 2007.

Specialists care coordinators at Broomfield Care carry out a full initial assessment of each individual’s circumstances and needs, giving people a chance to put a name to a face and to ask any questions.

Vicky added: “We know our clients want to see the same friendly faces every time they need our help, so a big priority for me is our team of carers ensuring they get the support they need.

“Experience, qualifications, competence and excellent verbal communication skills are all essential, but in addition, all our carers have unflappable and friendly personalities and a good sense of humour for when it’s needed.”

To celebrate their fifth year and the expansion, the business has recently moved to larger premises in Innsworth.
