Honourable Guests; EricWood Mason (GCB) and Andy Russle (GCCL)

Ahmed Ginwala (Club`sSecretary) Well come all the guests and introduce the Chief guests to all thecommunity. 147 peoples attend the AGM held at Al Ashraf girl's primary schoolGloucester.

AGM started with versesof Quran by Hafiz molana Ismail Khuwadia

Raja (club`s ChiefExecutive) did the presentation where he welcomed all the guests from bothcommunities (Indian and Pakistanis). During his presentation following pointswere highlighted,

1: Clubs merge wasactually a merger of two nations. That shows there is unity in Gloucester amongethnic minorities. Gloucester Pakistanis Cc were winning their divisions forlast six years in a row and so do Walls Crescent Cc was doing their best andwas playing in Division two of the Gloucestershire County Cricket League. Inyear 2011 both clubs were struggling due to player shortages andadministrations. Both clubs committees talked about merger to bring strong teamfor the competition. End of season 2011 both clubs finally merged as GloucesterCrescent Pakistanis cricket club.

2: Club had seriousproblems regarding ground availabilities as Club has two teams now and requireda ground where both teams can play. GCB was involved to search the ground andEric Woodmason (GCB) did work really hard to negotiate with trustee of old Debenhamsground. Club received keys and access to the ground just 3 weeks before theseason. There was a huge task to prepare the wicket square and the pavilionwhere no games were played for three years. To sort out all, clubs was findingvery hard to face financial issues. All players were so keen to play and theirloyalty shown through their contributions towards the cost and efforts tomaintain the ground.

3: Raja appreciated thewhole club who worked really hard to maintain the ground when clubs grass cuttingmachinery broke down.He also mentioned few individuals who were working upto8/10 hours at the pavilion to repair the burst pipes and polishing the floor toget it ready for the club`s visiting teams. All the peoples who were involvedto help the club were praised.

4: It was told to theaudience that this was the first time in Gloucester`s history that twodifferent nationalities (Indian and Pakistanis) were sitting together under oneroof. This was the historical moment for all the Asian communities.

5: Talking about clubsachievements, Raja said proudly that club won three championships in their veryfirst year of merger. Club won Gloucester District Indoor championship,Organised by Gloucester Cricket Board. Club won division 3 of GloucestershireCounty Cricket League. Club also won Division 1 Evening cricket league afterbeating their rival AIW cc.

Club also has shiningstar AAmir Raju who inspired the whole GCCL teams for winning his 7thbest bowler award of the season.

6: Talking about club`sfuture Raja did mention that from next year they are introducing youth cricketclub and working closely with the community to improve.......

Andy Russle (GCCLSecretary) was invited to have few words where he admired the clubs efforts tomaintain GCCL`s standards in worse circumstances. He also congratulates theclub for their best performance during the last season.

Eric Woodmason (GCB)congratulate club for their best performance and results they achieved withinone year of merger. Eric pleased to see two teams helping each other as a cluband making perfect platform for the youth in the community.

Richard Graham (MP) wasastonished to see both communities sitting together first time in Gloucester`shistory. He called it the younger generation`s biggest achievement for theyear. He told audiences how he was involved playing a cricket match against GCPwhen he was representing city wingate cc. He appreciate the efforts GCP ismaking to develop cricket into the community and providing solid plate form forthe coming generations

He wishes good luck forthe club and said that he is very sure to see similar results by end of nextcricket season by the club.

    I don't know what it takes to be allowed to publish an article on TiG, but you'd think that some kind of tutorial would be provided, so it doesn't come out looking like a dog's dinner. Mind, it looks like minutes transcribed directly to the page...
