Christmas was nearly cancelled for little ones after dozens of presents were stolen from their childminder - but thanks to the help of the community, it was party time this afternoon.

Emma Tyler, who runs Tyler’s Tiny Tots in Churchdown, had bought presents for 20 youngsters which were stolen from her garage.

She then found out that the venue where the Christmas party was meant to be held had to cancel their booking.

She said: “It was all going wrong but thanks to the community and businesses we are sorted now.

“We had a Christmas party at the GL3 Community Hub today where all of them enjoyed food, party games and presents. Some parents came along too.”

Sam Shears from StreetHouseStudios donated £100 towards new toys. Vince Mitchell from Alex Clark Lettings donated 50 selection boxes, while Darren Wicks from DW Buildings donated money for the GL3 hall hire.

Emma said: “The youngsters all enjoyed opening their presents which included prams, dolls, diggers and loads more.”
