THREE fire engines raced to the scene of a suspected fire near Stroud early this morning.
After being told a car was on fire with people trapped inside, two fire crews from Painswick and another from Stroud dashed to the A46 just before 1.30am.
The crews confirmed there was no fire and went on to extricate one person from the car. One person had already been released before the arrival of the emergency services and both were treated at the scene by the ambulance service.
In total the crews were on the scene for just over 90 minutes dealing with the incident.
