MICHAEL Cooney’s farcical play Cash On Delivery continues to entertain audiences in Gloucester this week.

Held at the Kings Theatre, The Crown Players perform their interpretation of the show until Saturday.

Despite a shaky start when their lead actor had to pull out due to work communities, the show, as they say, has gone on.

Director Jim Whittard took on the role, passing on his own responsibilities to producer Joy Davis.

“The cast really pulled together in a real effort to keep the show going and special thanks must go to Jim,” Joy told The Buzz.

The play tells the story of con-artist Eric Swan who has fraudulently claimed benefits from imaginary people living at his address.

But things start to get a bit risky for the con-man when investigators start asking questions.

Expect mayhem and plenty of laughs.

“Audiences can go along, forget their troubles and really enjoy it,” Joy said.

The play runs until Saturday with performances at 7.45pm. Tickets cost £9 for adults and £8 for students and pensioners. Call 01452 721745.
