We all love a good Christmas film. So here is a look at ten of the best Christmas movies of all-time.

1. Home Alone (1990) - The story of a young boy left at home on Christmas. It may not sound festive but Macaulay Culkin shot to fame in this slapstick comedy. Put 'em up you fithly animal!

2. The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

The Muppets tell their version of Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas tale about Scrooge’s path to redemption on Christmas Eve. A heart-warming comedy.

3. Miracle on 34th Street (1994)

The story of a young girl’s quest to help the world believe in Santa Claus. A story to leave you feeling all happy inside and help you believe in the magic of Christmas.

4. Elf (2003) Will Ferrell stars in this silly comedy for all ages. A human who believes he is an elf goes on an adventure to find his father. A laugh a minute Christmas adventure.

5. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) Based on the Dr Seuss book Jim Carrey plays the evil Grinch in this humorous adaptation of a classic cartoon! But beware the rhyming narration is infectious.

6. Love Actually (2003) This stellar cast and director Richard Curtis (Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral) is not the only thing that makes this a Christmas favourite. Its tales of love, loss and the festive season is sure to keep you laughing and crying this season!

7. The Santa Clause (1994) Buzz Lightyear himself, Tim Allen stars in this comedy of becoming Santa Clause. He finds himself filling the place of Santa on Christmas Eve, but proves just how difficult the job is.

8. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) One of Tim Burton’s most famous films, this animation follows a rather different festive approach by clashing Halloween with Christmas. But with catchy songs and a loveable protagonist you can’t go wrong!

9. It’s a Wonderful Life (1946) this classic fantasy film is a real festive favourite but just be sure to keep the tissues near.

10. The Polar Express (2004) Finally on our list is the Tom Hanks Adventure Animation. A little boy jumps aboard the Polar Express to visit Santa. But was it all just a dream? A really uplifting tale and a family classic! Tom Hanks’ numerous character voices is also something to look out for.
