Willow weaving sessions prove to be a hit with those looking to get creative

Those who want to learn the art of weaving can come along to classes run by expert Helen Lomberg.

The sessions are held at the Gloucestershire Arts and Craft Centre where visitors will get the chance to learn the techniques to the art.

During each session they will make different items using willow including, garden structures, cribs, dragon flies and baskets.

Helen said: “I have a few blind students who have been busy making fruit baskets, waste bins and a telephone table. I am looking to hold a third session on Thursdays.

“I have been willow weaving for the past 21 years and I made the famous Walls roundabout bunnies years ago.”

Sessions are held on Wednesdays at 7pm until 9pm and Thursday 10.30am until 12.30pm and 2.30pm until 4.30pm.
