Lydney Dial-A-Ride run a Community Transport route which runs directly to Clearwell Caves car park, making it the perfect transport solution this Christmas to visit the attraction, and most importantly Santa, at the Caves!

Following the story of 'The Very Hungry Polar Bear', this year the staff at the caves have worked alongside children's book illustrator Heather Holland to create a spectacular display throughout 9 underground lit caverns. The story tells of a small boy who finds a bear and wants to keep him as a pet, flowing through the decorated caves and caverns like walking through a real life pop-up book!

In the heart of the caves 100ft underground, you will find a cafe serving festive treats, as well as a pretty Christmas market perfect for finding the best gifts and beautiful stocking fillers. It really is quite an experience! And on top off all of this, Santa will be giving out presents from his very own underground grotto!

With Dial-A-Ride providing the perfect link to the caves, there's no excuse not to go and explore! The 701 Community Transport route links passengers from St.Briavels and Clearwell, and drops them right at Clearwell Caves car park, enabling a one stop solution for visiting the caves! Dropping passengers at the Caves for 10am, the bus gets visitors there in plenty of time to beat the queues and make the most of the festive attraction. A further 707 route caters for passengers in Coleford, enabling them with the opportunity to visit the decorated Christmas Caves. As part of Lydney Dial-A-Ride, Community Transport routes are run to replace discontinued bus routes and operate just like an ordinary bus. You do not need to be a member of Dial-A-Ride to travel and anyone can use them, just hop on an pay your fare!

The Community Transport links are idea for those without transport, or those who do not want to drive, the opportunity of a hassle free way of getting out and about. The event is fun for all the family, and with the Community Transport route providing excellent links to and from the surrounding area, it couldn't be easier to hop on and get into the festive spirit!
