Tom Cleverley to Aston Villa- the out of favour Manchester United midfielder looks set to leave Old Trafford before Monday’s deadline and Villa are looking like the favourites to sign the Englishman. Louis Van Gaal has effectively told Cleverley he can leave so a move is looking increasingly likely.
Chairman Randy Lerner has given Villa manager Paul Lambert £12 million to spend on transfers and £8 million of that is going to be spent on signing Cleverley. However they will face competition to sign the 25 year old from Everton and Hull City.
Richard Keogh to Burnley- the 28-year-old defender is being targeted by Burnley manager Sean Dyche as he looks to tighten his defence for the new premier league season. The Derby captain, who has a year left on his current contract, has been offered a new deal by manager Steve McClaren but reports are that negotiations have stalled.
This has given Dyche more hope he will sign the Derby captain who previously has played for Carlisle and Cheltenham. However Keogh may decide to stay in the championship and help County push for promotion with time running out before the transfer deadline next week.
Sebastian Bassong to Crystal Palace- the Norwich defender has not played a single game for the Canaries this season and is thought to be a target for new Palace manager Neil Warnock. Chairman Steve Parish has made transfer funds available for Warnock and Bassong is one option they are looking at.
Bassong is thought to be on the market for around £2 million, a seemingly bargain price considering his experience in the premier league for Norwich and Spurs. So this deal looks a sure thing to happen before Monday along with other reinforcements towards Selhurst Park.
Loic Remy to Chelsea- the QPR striker is now Jose Mourinho’s top transfer target after the injury to Diego Costa and Fernando Torres looking like leaving on loan. Top target Mattia Destro is no longer joining the blues so Remy provides a good back-up option to Mourinho.
Remy saw an £8.5 million move to Liverpool break down earlier this month due to a failed medical, however with time running out for Mourinho, he will still go ahead with the signing and could trigger a release clause in his contract if Remy decides he wants to move to Stamford Bridge.
Sokratis to Arsenal- after having an impressive World Cup this summer, Arsenal are set to bring in the Borussia Dortmund defender as he tries to replace Thomas Vermaelen who moved to Barcelona this month. The defender is still only third choice in the Dortmund line up so is looking to leave in search of first team football.
Arsene Wenger is trying to negotiate with the Germans who want £20 million for their man but Wenger is prepared to offer £12 million for his services, with a move likely to happen before Monday.
