Tony Poole, 51, remanded accused of stabbing Martin Stokes and Benjamin McGregor-Clark

TONY Poole has been remanded in custody over an alleged double stabbing in Gloucester.

Poole appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court for the first time today, accused of stabbing Benjamin McGregor-Clark and Martin Stokes in Mr McGregor-Clark’s Nettleton Road home on Monday, January 13.

Poole is alleged to have struck Mr Stokes in the eye with a knife and to have stabbed Mr McGregor-Clark, after an argument.

The defendant, 51, whose full name is Anthony Keith Poole, of Melbourne Street East, Gloucester, was not asked to enter a plea at this stage.

He was remanded in custody until the next hearing at Gloucester Crown Court.

That preliminary hearing will take place on February 14.
