National charity, the Meningitis Trust, is looking for a team of thrill seekers to join it on the ultimate adrenaline experience – free-falling from 13,000 feet (two-and-a-half miles) with the Red Devils.

Those taking part will experience the thrill of accelerating from a standing start to 120mph in just ten seconds, as they free-fall to around 6,000ft. They can then enjoy a five-minute canopy ride to the landing area – all while safely attached to one of the Red Devils' experienced tandem instructors. But those interested in joining in need to take the plunge soon. Places are limited and the numbers available are dropping fast.

The exciting day, which takes place at Langar Airfield in Nottinghamshire on May 8, includes an introduction to the Red Devils team, the official parachute display team for the British Army, followed by a thorough training session on the ground. After your skydive there's a celebratory post jump reception.

"This is a once-in a-lifetime experience that lives with people forever" said Jo Killick, the Trust's Fundraising Co-ordinator for the Central and East region.

"Everyone we know who has done this previously has had an exhilarating time – both literally and figuratively it takes them a while to come back down to earth!"

The Trust needs to raise £8,000 every day to fund its services. As a charity with no public funding it relies entirely on the generosity of individuals to continue its vital work, supporting anyone affected by meningitis with free professional services, as well as raising lifesaving awareness of the disease and its symptoms.

"For the many people who have been, and continue to be, affected by meningitis, and those who will sadly be affected in the future, the Trust is a lifeline," Jo added. "Supporting it at events like this ensures that this lifeline can continue. And knowing that your skydive has helped others makes the day that little bit extra special for those taking part."

To take part in this fantastic challenge, you will need to commit to raising a minimum sponsorship of £650. For more information or to download a copy of the event pack visit the Trust's website at www.meningitis-trust.org or contact Jo Killick on 0845 120 4886 or email joannek@meningitis-trust.org
