Staff and customers felt the pain as they took on a Waxathon challenge for charity.

The Tesco store in Brockworth held two events to raise money for Diabetes UK this month.

They also got treated to a makeover and reflexology treatments.

Community champion, Laura Pittaway, said: “We managed to raise £148 from both events. The weekend before staff and customers had wax treatments.

“Paul Tempset from the electrical department has his legs waxed while Carl Brown our delivery man had his chest

waxed, they were brave but we did hear girly screams. Other staff including Chris Bird and Andy Williams also took part.

“This weekend beautician Marie House, who also works in our clothing department, gave people reflexology treatments.

“She also produced leaflets about how this treatment can help people with diabetes.

“We are going to organise a Mother’s Day event and Wedding events in the future. We are more than pleased with the amount raised.”
