AS the family of the late Albert Williams, a resident of Sudmeadow Road, Hempsted, who died at 1.30pm on Saturday January 4, we all wish to thank and pay tribute to the nursing team at Ward 4b, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital who, under the leadership of Dr Asghar and ward sister Sue Merrett, strove for three weeks to preserve and maintain Albert’s life, which ended as the fabric of his body was weakened and he was unable to co-operate in the finality.

Albert was a gentleman who neither did nor wished anyone harm and he is now greatly missed by all his family.

Nice to hear praise for a change. People are too quick to whine.

Indeed...as with any public service, we only ever tend to heart the bad stories...condolences to the family, and good to read this kind of thing,

For the most part, the nursing staff do an amazing job, often, in difficult and trying circumstances. This heartfelt commendation ought to be expressed more often, IMHO.
