Making the most of this year’s heat wave is Gloucestershire theatre company Rain or Shine.
Next up on their schedule will be a performance of Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice.
The Bard’s classic romantic comedy promises a web of romantic intrigue, cunning duplicity and comical foolery.
As the plot thickens you will find yourself wondering if the merchants trading on the Rialto are as respectable as they claim. Is the young Venetian man a fortune hunter or a love-struck romantic?
All will be revealed as the story unravels in a gripping alfresco performance.
Director James Reynard said: “The current heat wave seems set to continue into August and our audiences are really enjoying our performances as they leave their umbrellas at home, relax and eat their picnics.”
You can catch their show – suitable for those aged six to 96 – at Barnwood Park in Gloucester on Saturday.
The performance takes place at 6.30pm. For tickets, call 01452 616305 or visit www.rainorshine.
