A PROSTITUTE and heroin addict desperate for money has been jailed for burgling and stealing from her clients.

Emily Ruth Tequilla Wyatt's life had spiralled so badly out of control that she said she was pleased to be in prison and getting help for her problems.

The 35-year-old conned one of her clients into leaving his flat in London Road, Gloucester, so she could break in and steal a 32-inch television between December 2 and 4.

Just days before, she had stole £40 and a CD off another customer who had refused to pay her.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC jailed Wyatt for two-and-a-half years, saying he too thought her life may improve inside.

Prosecutor Janine Wood said Wyatt met up with the 25-year-old vulnerable adult and they had gone to his flat where they had sex for money.

She rang him to come and meet her later on and he left his door ajar as he went to out to meet her.

Gloucester Crown Court heard that while the man was out of the house for 15 minutes, she went in and stole the television.

The burglary came weeks after she had stolen £40 in cash and a CD from another man, who had said he had no money after the pair had sex.

Defending, Sarah Jenkins said Wyatt had recently been diagnosed with severe ADHD and was, for the first time in her life, getting treatment.

She told the court: “Miss Wyatt lives with her mother who describes her as extremely well behaved and no problem at all.

“Then suddenly she will become completely agitated, begin to drink and then take drugs.

“She has been taking heroin since she was 24. She was the victim of a very serious offence when she was age 23 and that led on to reliance on drugs.

“She then became a sex worker to fund the addiction.”

Wyatt told the judge she had been on script since being in prison and had applied for a transfer so she could go on a specialist treatment course.

Judge Tabor said he was subject to the three strike burglary rule meaning he would have to jail Wyatt for a minimum of three years, minus credit for her guilty pleas.

He said: “She is in a completely chaotic place at the moment and actually I think prison is the best place for her.”

He told her: “I am not going to lecture you; you have had a pretty dreadful life.

“You have committed quite a lot of crime and a lot of that has been to feed your habit.

“I have got quite a lot of confidence that you can get out of this.

“This sentence should give you time to clean yourself up and sort yourself out.”

A 35 year old woman selling herself for money to buy drugs. Seriously. Something MUST be done to help her. Do you REALLY think she does this because she wants to?
