POLICE are appealing for the driver of a vehicle which collided with a wall at a home in Cheltenham to contact them.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop after colliding with a boundary wall of a home on Faringdon Road, between 12-12.30pm last Friday.

The vehicle had collided with a wall at a home near the junction with Hatherley Lane, and left a section of its bumper at the scene.

Police suspect the vehicle to be a Volkswagen.

The driver responsible or anyone with information about this collision is urged to call 101, quoting incident 387 of January 18.

You can also give information anonymously by contacting the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org and you may receive a reward if someone is arrested and charged.

Ha. If only TiG proof-read (or even just checked) their articles before publishing them. When will they learn? No chance of an apology from the Editor I suppose, to acknowledge that the original version was wrong, by a whole month...???

...or maybe the actual incident occurred on 18th Jan, and the date stated by TiG in the 2nd paragraphs is a month out...???

It's logged as incident 387 of January 18th. That would suggest it wasn't reported to the police until last week. Maybe the homeowner has realised they need a crime reference number to claim on their house insurance to have the wall rebuilt.

Hmm. Incident happened over a month ago. Wouldn't hold out much hope of a resolution. Presumably all local vehicle repair bushinesses have been approached, to see if any have done recent bumper repairs on VW's...???
