POLICE are hunting for knives that may have been used in the fatal stabbing of Neil Bennett as a sixth person has been arrested in the murder investigation.
The 50-year-old died in hospital after being stabbed twice at Park End Road on the evening of Saturday, July 27.
On Wednesday, police arrested a 33-year-old Gloucester man. He has been bailed to return to Gloucester police station on October 16. Another 38-year-old man remains on bail until September 4.
Four other people who have been charged with murder have appeared in Bristol Crown Court this morning.
Ricky Lee James, 33, of Spa Villas, Montpellier, Gloucester, Lucy Dowdall, 19, of Spa Villas, Montpellier, Gloucester, Christopher Peter Horn, 29, of Denmark Road, Gloucester, and Tyler Johnson, 25, of no fixed abode, all appeared for a preliminary hearing.
The defendants will next appear in court on November 4 when they will be expected to enter their pleas.
Their trial is not expected to take place until after Easter next year.
The hearing comes as detectives said they were keen to trace "knives or part of knives" which may have been dumped nearby.
They are also on the look-out for a hooded jacket with a distinctive lined pattern, which may have been ditched in a garden close by.
Detective Inspector Ian Ginn said: "We're appealing to people primarily in the area of Gloucester Park who may have discovered this jacket, pictured below, other clothing or in fact any other objects since the incident.
"These items may have been discarded in gardens or other hidden areas of land in the last few weeks so I would appeal to people to check their property just in case.
"We're still interested in any CCTV from the area so if you have a camera that has footage from that weekend we want to hear from you too."
Anyone who can help police with the investigation should call 101.
