Officers from the local policing team in Gloucester have demonstrated their support for a charity that helps and gives advice and medical assistance to the homeless in the city by once again donating a turkey for their Christmas dinner.

PC Steve Crown and PC Mark Evans delivered the extra large frozen bird to Nicky and Marcus Bale at the Vaughan Centre today (Monday December 23) and visitors to the centre will tuck into it on Christmas Day.

PC Crown said: "The work Nicky and the Vaughan Centre do is amazing. Their approach is helping people recover some dignity in their lives and a more positive future. The knowledgeable and dedicated staff are going about things with understanding and sensitivity and helping improve the situation for so many.

"We work closely with the centre and always like to show our support for their work and those less fortunate than us."
