MOTORISTS escaped unscathed from a horror crash which saw a van plunge off a main road.

Three vehicles were involved in a collision at the A46 Bath Road/Dudbridge Road junction in Rodborough, Stroud this afternoon.

It’s believed the van, which was heading on to the A46 from Dudbridge Road, was in collision with a tanker lorry coming from Stroud.

The Ford Transit van was also involved in a collision with a Mitsubishi 4x4, before plunging through metal railings and 10ft down a steep bank and on to the forecourt of Stroud Auctions on the Bath Road Trading Estate.

Emergency services raced to the scene.

“It happened very quickly,” said van driver Matt Neale. “Luckily no-one was hurt. It could have been so much worse.”
