HUNDREDS of people are calling for mum-of-11 Heather Frost not to be given her six-bed 'mansion'.

The jobless Churchdown mum hit the headlines worldwide after The Citizen revealed her plans to move into the purpose built super-home in Tewkesbury at taxpayers' expense.

Tewkesbury resident Robert Stringer was so infuriated that he launched an online petition, which is collecting signatures rapidly.

The dad-of-one said: "We are in a double dip recession and we are all feeling the pinch. We should never abandon people but neither should we pander to them.

"Heather Frost is one example of just how the system is broken."

The 34-year-old is calling for the house to be split up so that more than one family can move in and to keep Heather where she is.

The digital data worker added: "My wife and I have one child and we'd like another but the discussion came up as to whether we could afford to bring it up.

"Having 11 children is all very nice but you should be able to support them. You should pay your own way."

As the petition gathers pace, Robert is preparing to hand it over to Tewkesbury Borough Council, which sold a plot of land for the house to Severn Vale Housing. The housing provider is building it now ready for Heather's move in July.

The petition can be viewed by going to www.change.org and searching for 'Tewkesbury Borough Council'.

It comes as further details of how Heather spends her benefits money emerged.

She is said to have bought microlight plane lessons, which cost up to £115-an-hour, as a Christmas present for her partner Jake Martin, 57, according to The Sun.

The lessons were believed to have taken place at Gloucestershire Airport in Staverton.

BARCABOY - You have stated some true words. Again, we have a disagreement (in sorts). In my opinion, there is a lot of bullying here, not from the posters, but from TiG. they have run this story about a local vulnerable family for a few days making it front page news. No matter how this eventually resolves itself, the continual bad local publicity this woman (let's face it, she has committed no crime whatsoever that we know of) will make things difficult for this lady and her young children for many months to come. My thoughts are that Northcliffe are running a hate campaign against a local woman who claims benefits (admittedly, a large amount I guess - I have no idea how much) to which she is entitled. It could be said that she is 'playing' the system, but then where does the blame lie? If an unemployed Gloucestershire woman can cause so much disdain to the public by simply claiming benefits to which she is entitled, surely the 'guilty' party is the government. Why doesn't this international newspaper company attack them? I belief is that they cannot 'bully' them around like a single unemployed Gloucestershire woman who has little ammunition to fight back. A regular attack is something on the lines of: "I work hard and pay my taxes to support this woman and her kids". Yes we do! Break it down, how much of YOUR own 'tax money' goes towards this woman and her family? A large percentage goes to the NHS, military, police welfare etc etc. Agreed, I believe a substantial amount goes to benefits, but then break that down on her claim on the wider scope of the monies put aside for benefits; it amounts to a minuscule amount. TiG, in my opinion are a disgrace. They have vilified this woman and her family more than criminals, rapists and druggies.

What I am a little confused about is how her 16 year old daughter is paying for all of the bills involved with owning a horse?? She said her mother pays nothing towards it and she takes care of it all. This is utter rubbish as a 16yr old cannot work full time as its illegal and they only get £4 something an hour so she would not physically take enough to take care of all the bills for a horse. I'm not trying to say that she's wrong for paying for it because I'm sure that if it was available to us, we would take it too but at the end of the day, just don't lie about it. Even her dad has now jumped on the bandwagon and started calling her lazy and a scrounger. In my opinion, it's not her fault because its given to her. She's not taking it. I just don't see how the system "rewards" the people who do nothing in life and makes the hard workers struggle. If you can't supply for your family yourself, STOP HAVING CHILDREN!!!!! Plus I'm sure that even on the NHS they have dentists? Please go and see one Heather......

Judas, I understand where you are coiming from but you are missing the point - there has been no reasonable dscussion about this issue. Tewkesbury Council have just made this decision so if you (the wider you) disagree with it and want to stop it, no mount of reasonable debate on here or anywhere else will change their decision. A lot of people don't just want to debate it and make it known they disagree - they want to try and stop it happening. The only way to affect any council decision that you disagree with in the short term and is legal is to write a letter or sign a petition. Again this is democratic, peaceful and puts across the view of those who can't be individally be heard to those who are in power and make decisions on our behalfs. Again this isn't bullying but is the fairest way to register your disapproval if you so wish and it is the right of those signing it to do just that.

Judas et al - i just simply think that there is no need to bring eleven children into the world we live in unless you have the means to support them. I am not interested in blaming the system that lets you claim the benefits. We all have a personal responsibility in life ourselves. That starts at home. Not in govt. I also object to paying for all the pets and flying lessons. Fine if you pay your way but if claiming benefit then no. The family have only brought the negative publicity on themselves but seeking it in the first place. Why is Angel who has spent a lot of time defending her mother not in some form of full time education. She is the same age as my daughter and she, by law has to be in it until 18. You can judge by the timings of her posts that she is not and she has stated she spends her day with the horse.

The benefit of hindsight! There is more money spent on a junkie who has a criminal record up to their eyeballs, have babies born with a heroin addiction, and so on and are treated with kid gloves and masses of counselling as they are the "victims". No-one forced them to stick the first dirty needle in their arm. I know which I would rather have as a neighbour - Mrs Frost and her 11 Children or Julie the junkie and her pervy punters. Yes, there is a serious problem with the benefits culture and no one is denying that but she can't turn back the clock. She has done incredibly well with such a large family to keep them altogether. She IS a working mother, she is a mother.
