THE birds are back in town – with peacocks returning to offer an unusual sight for shoppers at the Kingsway Tesco Express.
They are believed to have take a short flight from a nearby farm.
Free to roam where they like, the colourful creatures are understood to have flown in from the Chambers Builders at nearby Manor Farm.
Barry Kirby, the area's county councillor, said it would be an interesting idea to celebrate the regal birds by introducing them onto a coat of arms for Kingsway.
"It wouldn't be a bad idea and a bit of fun," he said.
"The peacocks are part of this area now and people are used to seeing them around.
"They can be a bit noisy, but they aren't causing any harm. They bring a certain sense of individuality to Kingsway.
"Not many other parts of Gloucester have the same luxury."
Manor Farm is home to two white peacocks and an Indian peacock.
