Man threatened staff with knife in robbery at Cheltenham bookmakers

A knife-wielding robber burst into a Cheltenham bookmakers and stole more than £800.

A member of staff at the shop, in Montpellier Street, was left terrified when the man walked in and demanded money from the till and safe.

The incident took place between 9.30pm and 9.45pm on Tuesday.

The member of staff was not injured in the incident and no customers were in the premises at the time.

Police investigating the incident are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The offender was described as around 6 feet tall and of medium build. He had a scarf covering his face and was wearing a baseball cap and a blue hooded jumper, with the hood up over the cap and a blue zip up hooded jacket.

Anyone who has any information about the robbery is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 383 of February 12.
