Man denies causing death of former Gloucester City youth player

A MAN has denied causing the death of a former Gloucester City FC youth player.

Stephen James Hill pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Jon Palmer by careless driving, when he appeared before Worcester Magistrates’ Court today.

Former West Bromwich Albion youth player and Gloucester City AFC under-18 midfielder Jon, 21, worked as a chef at Duke of York pub in Berrow, on the A438 between Ledbury and Tewkesbury.

He was pronounced dead near there after an alleged collision in the early hours of Monday, October 28.

The case was adjourned until Friday, May 2 at

Worcester Magistrates’ Court when a date for the trial will be set.

Hill, 34, of Birts Street, Birtsmorton, was released on bail.
