A REVOLUTION for Gloucester’s takeaways has begun – with two of the city’s fast food outlets closing their doors for major revamps.
McDonald’s, in Westgate Street, will be closed until Tuesday, April 8 while the restaurant receives a major refit.
Hoarding has been put up around the busy fast food outlet informing customers of the closure while construction work is carried out. In a message to customers, they said: “Sorry we are temporarily closed while we make some exciting changes to your restaurant. Sorry for any inconvenience during this time.”
The KFC restaurant, off Eastern Avenue, has also temporarily closed its doors in the last few days for a major refit, although staff are still operating the drive-thru at the restaurant.
It comes as work is now well under way on constructing a new McDonald’s outlet on the St Oswald’s Retail Park which won permission last year. The new restaurant will join other existing McDonald’s fast food outlets in Eastern Avenue, Bristol Road and Hardwicke.
