A MAJOR jobs boost for the Forest of Dean is being unveiled in The Citizen today.
Popular Mitcheldean firm The Warranty Group is on the look-out for up to 40 new customer service advisors immediately as it expands its business in the Forest.
Five years ago, the company took over the old Rank Xerox site – now Vantage Point Business Village – and committed itself to Forest jobs for Forest people.
Now its 185-strong workforce is being bolstered even further.
The new workers will deal with customers' queries and help to organise repair jobs.
They already handle customer service calls from customers of firms such as Honda, Toyota, John Lewis, Tesco, the RAC and General Motors.
Ian Kenny, business operations director, said: "When we arrived here five years ago we wanted to be an employer of choice in the Forest.
"We wanted to be in the position where people could drop in with their CVs and we could take on a very local workforce and I think we have achieved that."
Lydney's Gemma White, 30, started out at the firm in 2007 and hasn't looked back. She worked her way up from being a telephone advisor to being the internal account manager for the firm's Honda account.
Miss White, who now lives in Blakeney, said: "I have never known of a place where you are given so many opportunities to develop.
"When I joined I'd never done that sort of work before so the journey I have been on has been amazing."
Fellow worker Martin Turner, from Gloucester, had never had a serious job before when he was taken on in 2007. The 26-year-old said: "I have only got good things to say about the company. The managers are really supportive and it's a great atmosphere to work in."
Now the firm is looking for more workers – and bosses say they will take on people with little or no experience as they can be trained up.
Anyone interested in applying should call 01594 863040 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with their CV as soon as possible.
