This year children visiting the city council run Folk Museum in Westgate Street, or City Museum in Brunswick Road, can send their Christmas wishes and messages directly to Father Christmas.
In the run up to Christmas, visitors young and old can place their special messages on the magical St Nicholas Wishing Trees situated in the museum shops.
Organisers have said that once everyone is asleep the elves will set to work and deliver the messages straight to Father Christmas, who will write a personalised hand written note back.
Letters can be collected in person a few days after leaving a wish, or they can be posted to an address.
Hand written letters are available for £2 with an additional 50p for it to be posted back.
Entrance to the museum shops is free at both locations.
