Life savers will be trained up in specialist first aid skills at a two-day course at the University of Gloucestershire as part of the Stop the Heartbreak campaign.

A two day screening event on April 8-9 at the university’s Oxstalls campus will check 200 young people aged 15-35 for heart defects.

Eve Scarle, a lecturer and physiotherapist with a specialist interest in heart disease, said: “Learning these techniques is vital. The more people we have trained the better.”
