EXTRAS are needed for a ‘major new feature film’ shooting in Gloucester this summer.
A casting call has gone out to men and women of all ages who fancy their chance to shine in the movie.
The casting company is under strict instructions not to reveal what the film is, but it is being shot in mid-August and is far from the first time the city will have played a starring role in a blockbuster.
Budding Stroud actor Sarah Kilmister, 24, said she will be applying for a role.
“I am really excited about this opportunity,” she said.
“It is exciting to think that it could be a real chance to make a name for myself in the acting profession. I really hope I get cast to let the directors, producers and other actors see how I act and hopefully they'll like what they see.”
The casting call comes as it was revealed this week that a new film, also being shot this summer and starring Hollywood superstar Michael Fassbender will be set in Gloucestershire.
The British feature film, called Trespass Against Us, will tell the story of three generations of a family who have always lived outside the law and will also star In Bruges actor Brendan Gleeson.
However, it has not been made clear if Mr Fassbender’s film is the one extras are needed for.
Film fan and former Gloucester mayor Chris Chatterton, who led calls for the Guildhall’s cinema to get a digital update recently, said: “It is brilliant that films are made here.
"Gloucester has so much to offer and can really bring things to life with its fantastic locations. The more we can put the city on the map the better.”
