THE EX-BOYFRIEND of a Gloucester hairdresser stabbed to death while working at a salon, appeared in court today charged with her murder.
Asher Thomas Maslin, dressed in a grey tracksuit, is charged with murdering Hollie Gazzard on February 18 this year.
The 22-year-old from Benhall Gardens in Cheltenham entered no plea to the charge.
Bristol Crown Court heard that a provisional trial date of October 13 had been set by the court.
Judge Neil Ford QC said the case, expected to last four days, could be held in front of a high court judge at Gloucester Crown Court.
Allegations of murder, which have occurred in Gloucestershire, have for a number of years always been transferred to the bigger Bristol Crown Court.
Maslin is alleged to have killed Hollie, 20, from Churchdown as she worked at Fringe Benefits and La Bella Beauty salon on February 18.
Prosecutor Stephen Mooney said a plea and case management hearing would take place on May 9 in Bristol.
He said police would be serving papers to the Crown Prosecution Service before March 28.
The CPS will have to serve papers on April 25 and defence statements will be made by the plea and case management hearing.
