Hair stylist Hollie Gazzard, 20, died from 'multiple' stab wounds to the heart and body a coroner heard today.
Acting Gloucestershire coroner David Dooley took evidence of identification of Hollie's body and her cause of death before adjourning the inquest for six months.
Coroner's officer Andy Nicholls told the inquest Hollie, of Churchdown, died on February 18, 2014.
Mr Nicholls said Home Office pathologist Dr Richard James had carried out a post mortem examination and gave cause of death as multiple stab wounds.
Hollie was pronounced dead at 6.51pm at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, the inquest heard.
A more detailed report is being prepared by Dr James, the coroner was told.
The coroner said he would set August 21 this year as the date for the inquest to resume - but in reality that would not be necessary if criminal proceedings continued, he added.
