HIGH winds and falling debris is increasing the risk of flooding in some areas as the Environment Agency places the River Severn near Tewkesbury on flood alert.
Six flood warnings and one flood alert are in place. Three flood alerts in the Forest of Dean are being monitored, with the threat of high winds causing more blockages to drains and relief areas.
The Severn from Tewkesbury to Gloucester is expected to peak between 4.2 and 4.4 metres this afternoon with levels at the Gloucester Gauge recorded at 3.03 metres and steady between tides.
Rain is due to clear away from the county this morning with a dry, clear day with plenty of rare sunshine expected today and into tomorrow.
Winds will remain gusty at around 20 mph with temperatures at 10C (50F).
