HERON School and Temple Guiting have qualified for the South West Tag 2 Twickenham finals after a nerve-shredding county final.
More than 250 pupils from 21 schools in Gloucestershire took part in the tag rugby county finals as part of the Sainsbury’s School Games at Old Cryptians RFC last week.
The tournament produced one of the most dramatic finals of the School Games, when Gloucester’s Heron School and Cotswolds School Temple Guiting went head to head.
But neither could clinch the winner and the scores were tied at full time.
The match went to ‘golden try’ extra-time - where the next team to score would be victorious.
Heron School managed to eventually break the deadlock to score and claim their first gold medal of the 2014 Gloucestershire School Games.
Heron School and Temple Guiting will now battle against the other South West teams at Taunton School on Wednesday June 18.
The winners of the regional finals will represent the South West at Twickenham in London for the England Tag Rugby Finals.
Kirsty Dunleavy, Children and Young People Officer for Active Gloucestershire, said: "It is a fantastic event, with a huge number of children taking part at all levels.”
