Mother of three, Lindsay Nottingham, has launched a new business which will appeal to busy mums and dads and their hungry offspring.

Lindsay runs the Packed Lunch Genie, providing a daily packed lunch delivery service for primary school children in Gloucestershire.

And now Lindsay has entered the Innovation award category for the Gloucester Citizen and Gloucestershire Echo's Women in Business Awards.

They provide a showcase for the female entrepreneurs who make a real difference on the county's business scene. And it all culminates in a glittering awards evening at Hatherley Manor Hotel on March 20.

Lindsay of Painswick, who was formerly a civilian worker with the police force, said: "At the moment I am covering five schools. My menus are approved by a nutritionist and the children are loving the choice.

"As a busy working mother of three the idea came to me at work one day.

"Each child's lunch is freshly made and delivered to their school each morning.
"The menus are traditionally balanced and meet food-based guidelines for healthy packed lunches.

"The cost of a lunch is just £2 and for working and busy parents this service is extremely appealing."

Lindsay said there were advantages for schools as well, because there is no administration involved for them, as all ordering and payment is done online at thepackedlunch genie.co.uk

"For parents it offers convenience and peace of mind that their children are getting a healthy meal at lunch time," said Lindsay.

"Most importantly, the children themselves love the lunches. They love their individually named lunch bag filled with items they have selected with no queuing and no disappointment. And they love trying new tastes."
With Grundon Waste Management the title sponsor, the Women in Business Awards include 10 categories ranging from Young Entrepreneur to New Business of the Year.
