POLICE are appealing for information after two burglaries in Longford overnight on Sunday, April 27.

A large number of items were taken from houses in Victoria Road and Meadvale Close including handbags, a mini laptop, a christening present, theatre tickets, shopping vouchers, a wedding ring, a satnav, an Iphone and an Ipad.

Some of the stolen possessions were recovered in a nearby park.

A suspect was seen near Victoria Road. He is described as white, of average height and build and was wearing a black woolly hat.

He cycled off towards Longford Village Hall.

Anyone with any information about the incidents is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident numbers 55 and 68 of April 28.

Both houses were believed to be insecure at the time of the burglaries.

Police believe the cases are linked.

Harm reduction advisor Mark Godsland said: "Despite the warm weather home and business owners should keep doors and windows closed and locked as much as possible - even if there is someone on the premises.

"Any valuable items, or items of great sentimental value, should also be property marked to make them easily identifiable in the event of a burglary."
