HEAVY rain and high winds couldn't stop generous customers raising cash for their treasured maternity hospital.
New mum and Coco Chic salon owner Leanne Townsend was so impressed with Stroud Maternity Hospital when her daughter Edie arrived, that she wanted to raise some money for it.
Determined customers of the Westward Road, Stroud salon battled through the terrible weather conditions but the auctioneer was unable to make it through the floods to put £500-worth of prizes under the hammer. Despite that, almost £100 was raised through a raffle, and the auction will be held in the spring.
"I was never going to raise millions but I just wanted to say thank you to Stroud Maternity," said Leanne.
