A scrum of shoppers played for the very last few items at The White Company yesterday as it shut its doors at Gloucester Quays for the last time.
The store shut despite the best efforts of Gloucester Quays to save it - and the fact that it saw a leap in its profits last year.
The White Company admitted recently that they were shifting away from outlet centres to focus on their larger stores.
Yesterday the last few items were sold for bargain prices under the banner 'Goodbye Gloucester' which was displayed in the shop window.
No announcement about a replacement store has yet to be made by the Quays' management.
