MOVIE star Simon Pegg will feature in what has been described as the new Monty Python film.

The star of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and World’s End, from Gloucestershire, will appear as a hard-pressed teacher in the science fiction film Absolutely Anything, to be directed by Python veteran Terry Jones, who helmed Monty Python’s Holy Grail, and Life of Brian.

Four surviving Pythons - Jones, John Cleese, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam will also appear in the film, or their voices will, as they will play aliens.

Simon said: "As someone whose love of comedy was hugely informed by Monty Python, the chance to work with Terry was a gift. Meeting your heroes is one thing - working with them is something else."

Production is slated to begin next March.
