GLOUCESTERSHIRE rowers are in action in Germany this weekend at the World Rowing Junior Championships.
Gloucester-Hartpury rower Flo Pickles raced in the women’s quadruple sculls yesterday on the Hamburg regatta course, finishing second in her heat behind China in a time of six minutes, 44 seconds.
This result means the British junior crew, trained by Gloucester Hartpury coach Tom Pattichis, have progressed directly to tomorrow’s semi-final at 9.53am (UK time).
But Liam Tustin, from Evesham Rowing Club, will have to race in the repechage of the men’s eight after his crew failed to finish in the top two for a direct path to the final on Sunday (2.30pm).
The Brits finished third and will race the repechage today (11.49am) for another chance to make the final.
