One of Gloucestershire's leading care home providers aimed to give residents a truly memorable day as part of this year's Dignity Action Day.
Taking place on 1st February, the Orders of St John Care Trust's care homes across Gloucestershire hosted a series of social events and activities designed to bring the community together and make the day extra special for residents, while also demonstrating that everyone has an important role to play in treating those in care, and carers, with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Kevin Hall, Gloucestershire Assistant Operations Director, commented: "We're delighted to have supported Dignity Action Day by celebrating in each home Treating our residents with dignity and respect is a key part of the Trust's daily mission.
"We strive to ensure that everyone at OSJCT, from home managers and carers to volunteers, get to know residents on a personal level, treating them as individuals and offering them choice, control and a sense of purpose throughout their daily lives.
"It's great that days like Dignity Action Day have been created to raise awareness of the importance of upholding people's rights to dignity and autonomy, most especially the more frail and vulnerable members of our society."
