DEMOLITION workers are getting their teeth in to the Golden Egg.

The early 1970s concrete former restaurant and shop is being torn down to make way for a complete redevelopment of King’s Square and Gloucester bus station.

The bridge connecting it to the King’s Walk shopping centre is being picked apart, while other work is going on to pull down the main part of the building.

A key day for the 10-week project, being undertaken by Wye Valley Demolition on behalf of Gloucester City Council, will be Monday, February 3 when it will be flattened.
