BEER we go for the first Gloucester Beer and Cider Festival.

Hundreds of drinkers hopped to the event at Blackfriars Priory, which is continuing today from 11am to 11pm.

Punters were queuing at the door yesterday, frothing at the mouth to have a taste of one of 35 ales.

By 2pm there were 200 people in the picturesque venue.

With acoustic music playing in the background, and drink aplenty on tap, the event was far from a f-ale-ure.

Organiser Neil Richardson said: "It was a lot busier yesterday than we could've imagined.

"To have 200 people in the daytime was unbelievable. "We had a few problems at first, but now the only worry we have is running out of beer."
