Gloucester clinched a disappointing 11th place finish at the World Club 7s yesterday.
Just a week after lifting the Premiership Rugby 7s crown at the Stoop, a much changed Cherry and White outfit could not repeat their heroics across the road at Twickenham.
They crashed out at the group stages on Saturday losing to the Vodacom Blue Bulls (36-14), Cardiff Blues (41-5) and Buenos Aires (33-10).
Despite the disappointing day, they were still in action on Sunday and still had the chance to claim silverware.
But the depleted sevens specialists crashed to yet another defeat, this time at the hands of Seattle (22-12), in the plate semi-final, before finishing the weekend on somewhat of a high, beating New South Wales Waratahs (22-17).
