Gloucester is today busy with last minute Christmas shoppers.

Eastgate Street, Kings Walk shopping centre and the market at Kings Square are all looking busy as people pick up some bargains.

Many of the shops stay open until 5.30pm today such as Primark and Superdrug, while Debenhams will close at 6pm.

But stores such as H&M are hoping to beat other retailers in the race to start their post-Christmas sales. Their sale began on Christmas Eve with rails of discounted items on display.

Debenhams will kick off their sale, with up to 70 per cent off, when the doors open at 7am on Boxing Day. They will open until 6pm, then on Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday 9am-7pm and Sunday 11am-5pm.

The Eastgate shopping centre opens from 10.30am until 4.30pm on Boxing Day, then 9am until 5.30pm on Friday and Saturday.

Gloucester Quays will be open from 10am on Boxing Day.

Primark will open at 9am on Boxing Day, closing at 6pm.

Superdrug opens at 10am on Boxing Day and the Co-op supermarket, also at Kings Walk shopping centre, opens from 9am until 6pm on Boxing Day.

Yet again the only people who will be able to get into Gloucester on Boxing Day are those who live within walking distance, those with cars, or those within reach of the 10 and 94 bus routes. There's nothing like a bus service, is there...
