GLOUCESTER have made no approach for Newport Gwent Dragons duo Lyn Jones and Kingsley Jones.
The Welshmen were on an initial shortlist compiled by the Cherry and White hierarchy but Dragons sources have confirmed there has been no contact.
They do not expect to receive any approach for their coaching team and believe Gloucester are pursuing “big name” appointments.
The likes of Nick Mallett, Wayne Smith and Dean Richards are all on the hit-list, although South African Mallett has already ruled himself out of the running and Smith appears unlikely.
Gloucester are scouring the world for a successor to Nigel Davies, who was sacked last week.
CEO Stephen Vaughan was preparing to jet out of the country yesterday.
Meanwhile loose-head prop Nick Wood will undergo minor surgery on a hand injury this week.
