PAUL Moriarty is also set to leave Gloucester this summer.
The former Wales second row was made the Cherry and Whites’ defence coach by Nigel Davies in 2012 and is now out of contract.
Gloucester recorded the third worst defensive record in the Premiership conceding 64 tries in a bitterly disappointing season.
It is understood Moriarty was not offered a new contract and was likely to depart Kingsholm despite Davies’ dismissal on Monday.
Gloucester were linked with a move for Wales defence coach Shaun Edwards in February but it is believed his international commitments were a stumbling block and Davies wanted a full-time successor. Ex-defence coach David Ellis, currently a consultant at Lyon and Tonga’s defence coach, was among the candidates identified.
