Akapusi Qera appears on his way out of Kingsholm with reports in France claiming the Gloucester flanker has signed for Toulouse.
The Fiji star is out of contract at the end of the season and had been linked with a summer move to the Top 14.
But speculation over his future intensified after he was left out of the Cherry and White’s squad for last week’s Heineken Cup clash with Edinburgh.
Now French newspaper L’Equipe have reported the 29-year-old has signed for the four times former Heineken Cup champions. It is claimed Qera will join the French giants on January 1, as a ‘medical joker’ for crocked Gregory Lamboley.
Toulouse would have to strike a deal to buy Qera out of the remaining six months on his contract with Gloucester and it is understood an agreement is yet to be reached.
The club were unavailable to comment today but the news has been received with great disappointment from fans and players alike with Nick Wood and Huia Edmonds venting their frustration on Twitter.
Nick Wood said: “Going to miss big @qera7 Amazing player in defence and attack, one of the Gloucester greats. Wish he was staying with us!”

Huia Edmonds added: “Don’t know why we are getting rid of one of @gloucesterrugby best players over the past 8 years. But all the best @qera7 #jouerjouer

Qera joined Gloucester in 2007 and quickly established himself as a fans favourite for his all action performances.
During his six years at the club he has made 141 appearances and scored 33 tries.
But he has fallen down the pecking order at Kingsholm following the summer arrival of Matt Kvesic.
