BEER is being delivered to pubs in Gloucester in a novel three-wheeled way.

Gloucester Brewery, at the Docks, has recently purchased a pedalled trike to deliver their wares around the city centre.

The trike can hold six casks of real ale at once, each cask weighing 50kg. These get delivered to pubs including Fosters on the Docks, The Dick Whittington and The Cross Keys Inn.

Jared Brown, of Gloucester Brewery, said: "The trike has proved a real success and everyone in Gloucester does a double take when we cycle past.

"We're really keen to reduce our carbon footprint, and having such a fantastic city location it seemed like an obvious way to do this.

"Not only that, since using the trike staff fitness levels have significantly improved and leg muscles have doubled in size."

The brewery is delivering up to 25% of a week's deliveries by trike, significantly reducing their carbon footprint.
