SHOPPERS were treated to an unexpected performance of the 'Hallelujah Chorus' at the Tesco, St Oswalds store on Saturday.

Forty-five members from The Gloucester and District Christian Choir took part in the ‘flash mob’ performance.

Pamela Dewick, the choir’s Musical Director, said: “The flash mob was brilliant.

“It went really well and we got a big round of applause from the shoppers at the end of it.

“We were asked by the store to perform which makes a nice change as we usually have to ask them if we can perform.

“The members of the choir pretended to be shoppers and then all of a sudden broke out into song.

“It was a lot of fun and being part of a choir is about doing new things and this is something different to what we have done before.”
