It seems that science fiction rules supreme at the

moment; the 3D film 'Gravity' is wowing audiences and critics alike, and the

recent Doctor Who anniversary achieved massive viewing figures worldwide.

Here in the Forest, Lydbrook Players are making their own

contribution with a Sci-Fi version of a traditional tale – 'Beauty and the

ALIEN Beast'.

Brian and Sandie Bradley, co-writers and directors of

this year's production, are delighted to have captured the mood of the moment.

"I first had the idea some time ago but the writing was on and off for ages due

to other commitments. Even when we finished and proposed the pantomime for this

year, we hadn't really realised how appropriate it would be." Brian explained.

And what do they think of last month's anniversary episode

of Doctor Who, which garnered around 13 million UK viewers and played in 94

countries around the world? "Well, we'll be happy with even the smallest

fraction of those audience figures," Sandie laughed, "and, anyway, our

auditorium will only seat a hundred!"

So, if you don't want to miss out, get your tickets now

from Lydbrook Central Stores and join in the futuristic, festive fun. The show

will take place at Lydbrook Memorial Hall on 19th, 20th

and 21st December with a matinee performance on Saturday, 21st.

Humans, androids and aliens are all welcome, but no daleks, please!
